Nexus Family Connect is a specialist Independent Social Work service based in Stafford, supporting children and families through family time, assessments and individually planned interventions.
We understand that families often come to us during uncertain, emotional or challenging periods. Our role is to provide a calm, safe and welcoming space where children feel comfortable, parents feel supported and important family relationships can be understood, maintained or carefully rebuilt.
Children remain at the heart of every decision we make.

Every child and family is different. We do not use a one-size-fits-all model.
Our work is individually planned and may include assessment, preparation, direct work with children, supported communication, supervised family time, professional reviews and recommendations for future arrangements.
We work at a pace that reflects the child’s needs rather than simply progressing through a standard pathway.
Our approach is:
The child’s welfare, voice, emotional wellbeing and individual needs remain central throughout our involvement.
We support families to build trust, improve communication and develop safe, meaningful relationships.
We recognise that behaviour is often a form of communication. We consider the impact of trauma, separation, conflict, loss and disrupted relationships.
Our work is informed by social work knowledge, safeguarding practice, evidence-based assessment and experience within family court proceedings.
We recognise strengths while also clearly identifying concerns, risks and areas where further support or change may be required.

At Nexus Family Connect, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They guide every conversation, every decision and every interaction with the children, families and professionals we support. We understand that every family has a unique story, and every child deserves to feel safe, valued and understood. Our NEST Values remind us to approach every piece of work with compassion, professionalism and purpose.
We create warm, welcoming and child-friendly environments where children and families feel respected, listened to and supported. Positive relationships grow when people feel safe enough to be themselves.
We believe in recognising strengths and building confidence. We encourage children, parents and families to develop the skills, resilience and understanding needed to move forward positively.
Safety is at the heart of every decision we make. We provide emotionally and physically safe spaces where children can build trust, express themselves and experience meaningful connections.
We achieve the best outcomes by working collaboratively. By bringing together children, families and professionals, we create stronger relationships, shared understanding and brighter futures.
Although TRUST isn't a letter within NEST, it is woven through every value. We build trust by being honest, consistent and transparent in our practice, ensuring children and families know they are supported by experienced professionals who always place their welfare first. These values are more than words—they are the principles that shape our culture, influence our decisions and guide every assessment, every family time session and every opportunity to help children remain connected to the people who matter most.
